By The Everton Fan Advisory Board (24 May 2023)

The process to elect three new members to Everton’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB) has been confirmed.

An application window will open from today, with Evertonians having until 11:59pm on Sunday 11 June to put themselves forward for nomination.

A shortlisting panel comprising two current serving FAB members, one representative of Everton Football Club, a local religious leader and a local politician or business leader will then review the nominations before determining a final list of nine candidates.

An online supporter vote will begin on Monday 19 June and run until Friday 30 June, with the FAB seeking to fill the following three positions:

  • One Evertonian who is a registered Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) member.
  • One Evertonian representing a group with a protected characteristic as defined in the Equality Act of 2010.
  • One Evertonian with no further eligibility requirements.

Jazz Bal, Chair of the FAB said: “Supporters are an integral part of a football club’s success and that’s why it’s so important we have a voice on the strategic issues facing our Club. This has been another difficult season and we’ve seen consistently how Evertonians have stepped up to make their voices heard.

There’s never been a more important time for us to continue to do this and I hope that Evertonians take the opportunity to consider applying for the FAB and playing a part in bringing the issues and perspectives of supporters to senior executives in the Club”

The FAB held a number of open supporter meetings earlier this year in response to the growing concerns from supporters about the predicament of the Club and met with the majority shareholder to share those concerns.

Nationally, it spoke at the All Parliamentary Party Group for Football Supporters on the need for the rapid implementation of the Tracey Crouch Fan Led Review reforms and met the FA after championing the introduction of fair ticket pricing at FA Cup fixtures.
