FAB MEETS WITH EFC FOR QUARTERLY MEETING

By The Everton Fan Advisory Board (5 June 2023)

The FAB formally met with EFC for the final time of the 2022/23 season on 31 May 2023.

Areas focussing on EFC’s Strategic Vision and Objectives were discussed and these included:

  • There being no attendance from the EFC Board of Directors; despite the Memorandum of Understand expressly stating that each season the EFC CEO was to attend two meetings and EFC’s Independent Non-Executive Director attend all four;
  • Potential investment; and
  • Activities relating to Everton Women.

Within the section on Broader Supporter Engagement, the FAB provided a summary of activities that had taken place during the FAB’s first year, planned activities for the next season and a comparison of other Premier League Clubs who had established advisory boards.

The FAB also requested an update regarding the referral of EFC to an independent commission, but were informed that the Club cannot comment on this matter.

Additionally, a significant part of the meeting focussed on the Club’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock:

  • Colin Chong, EFC’s Chief Stadium Development Officer, provided a construction update that included a series of milestones that had been achieved during the past 12 months. Additionally, he reaffirmed that construction was on time and that a series of test events would take place during 2024;
  • A presentation was delivered to the FAB relating to the Club’s sales strategy for ‘All’ – the bars, restaurants and experiences available as a hospitality offering at the new stadium; this included a tour of the sales suite;
  • An appreciation of the ‘digital journey’ that fans may be able to expect. This will be shaped through a survey that will be sent to Evertonians over the next few weeks; and
  • A discussion about migration to the new stadium; a survey focussing on this is planned for late summer.
