FAB CALLS FOR FAN VOICE TO BE HEARD IN PL COMMISSION APPEAL BOARD

By Fan Advisory Board (19 Jan 2024)

The Everton Fan Advisory Board has today called for the Appeal Board reviewing Everton Football Club’s
10-point penalty deduction, to consider the true impact and consequences the sanctions will have on supporters
and the wider community.
In a 25-page statement, the FAB sets out the case as to why football supporters should have a voice in the appeal
process, how the sanctions imposed unduly punish fans, in contradiction to the aims of the Fan Led Review, and
the damaging and far reaching negative social impact they will have for a Club which has been at the heart of its
local community for nearly 150 years.
The statement also highlights the lack of transparency in the Premier League’s sanctions policy for breaches to
the Profit and Sustainability Rules, the disproportionate and excessive nature of the sanctions and how they
exacerbate the issues they are designed to address.
The statement has been developed under the guidance of Barrister, Matthew Stanbury. It has been submitted to
Everton Football Club and the Premier League, with a request that it is formally considered as part of the Club’s
appeal.
